Assisting our local youth with barriers gain their drivers license by providing the opportunity to complete their required 50hrs of supervised driving hours.

We are now looking for Youth Mentor volunteers to be part of the PCYC Drive to the Future Program. PCYC exists so that young people at risk across WA have a safe place to go somewhere they can feel at home, make friends and do things that young people should do. With a vision & purpose of changing young people's lives, we are all about empowering young people to reach their full potential and for our centres to be thriving and welcoming hubs within their respective communities.

The Department for Child Protection Volunteer Driver would transport children and young people to and from family contact, appointments and may also assist with learner driver training. Some out of hours, long distance and overnight travel may be required.

Volunteering in this role will enable more families of Kids First to access our therapeutic services safely and affordably, and in a supportive and comfortable environment. The Pilbara RYDE Program provides young people (16-25 years) who live, work or study in the City of Karratha with the opportunity to complete their 50 hours of supervised driving with a Volunteer Driving Mentor. Volunteering as a Driving Mentor may offer a rewarding experience through sharing tangible skills which serve to directly assist disadvantaged young people.

You will be matched with families and tasks based on your experience, skills and interests and the family’s needs. We would like you to commit for 12 months and to be flexible when volunteering. The support you are expected to give will vary from family to family and may change during your time with us. We will provide you with adequate training and supervision.

The Orygen Assist program provides essential items including non-perishable foods, clothing, and hygiene products to young people & their families. This position supports our volunteer-run service by completing deliveries of online clinician orders.

Volunteer Driving Mentors are required to supervise 16 to 24 Year olds to gain their 100 hours required for them to get their P Licence. Supervisor training and vehicles supplied. Working with disengaged youth with experience of limited adult support network. Tasks include completing Orygen Assist deliveries as required across our sites in the Northwest region of Melbourne and pick up & delivery of stock orders from our charity partners as needed (e.g. Foodbank & Pinchapoo).

Volunteers are required for transporting of Young People and Children in care. Transporting will include from the Blair Athol DCP office to other Family contact locations, eg schools and libraries. Transporting of the children is with use of government vehicles.
