Driver- Driving Supervisor for Learner Drivers

About this opportunity

Drive for Life is a driver training & mentoring program that equips young people who are overcoming adversity, to obtain their drivers licence. The program removes the barriers & provides a pathway towards positive role models, developing independent life skills & improving employment prospects. The Volunteer Driving Supervisor will be required to sit in the car with program participants, assist in logging necessary hours, reinforce safe driving skills & ensure all road rules & regulations are followed. Volunteers ae intrinsic to the success of the program & participant; the will be providing much needed on-going support & mentorship to program participants. To help set volunteers up for success, they will be provided with extensive & necessary training, on-going support & become a valued member of the Oasis team. Our driving students need experience in all types of driving conditions including night driving. We provide fully insured automatic vehicles for our students to use during this mentoring program.

Additional requirements

Covid-19 vaccination . Driver's Licence (C) . National Police Certificate *. Working with Children Check *.

Be at 21 years or older, ability to demonstrate a high level of maturity & leadership. Be reliable & committed to the position, Excellent communication & interpersonal skills. Ability to build rapport with people from various cultural & linguistic backgrounds. Empathetic & understanding approach to working with young people. Ability to placate complicated or stressful situations. Ability to work in a team & alone when required. Ability to work with professional discretion & confidentiality. A respect & willingness to work within the ethos of the Salvation Army.
