We are excited to be expanding the Sir Donald Bradman research library collection with a donation of a significant personal collection in 2024. We are looking for someone to assist with the organisation and cataloguing of this new collection. We are also looking for assistance with the establishment of research library loan partnerships and processes within our broader library network and research librarian services on an ad-hoc basis.

We are embarking on the digitisation of a large historical collection of photographs into the museum collection. This will involve organising, scanning and saving photographs from the archives, and carefully returning to archives. Volunteers will help with ensuring that the BVHS Collection is managed and conserved in accordance with National Standards for Australian Museums and Galleries. The aim is to maintain the physical & electronic collection registers of Photographs and Objects within the museum and the machinery shed. Friends of Memorial Park and Allambie Park Cemeteries are looking for new members to assist them with their mission. Interested people could be involved in various activities from compiling guides, arranging guided tours, helping maintain the website or helping raise funds. Volunteers are also needed for busy bees at the cemeteries.

Two positions on the Albany Cemetery Board are available to be filled. The positions, which are for 5 year terms and commence on 1 July 2021. The Board is responsible for the care, control & management of the Albany Cemetery and members are required to attend Board meetings and to be active & willing to participate in Board projects and decisions. Meetings on the 4th Wednesday of the month commencing at 4pm in the Cemetery Chapel and last about an hour. Additonall time commitment varies.
