You will be matched with families and tasks based on your experience, skills and interests and the family’s needs. We would like you to commit for 12 months and to be flexible when volunteering. The support you are expected to give will vary from family to family and may change during your time with us. We will provide you with adequate training and supervision.

Bayside Community Emergency Relief (BCER) is a 100% volunteer run, community driven charity. Our mission is to empower people experiencing hardship and tragedy by providing requested emergency aid supplies when a disaster arises. Ideally based in Bayside, Glen Eira or Kingston but we aren't limited to those areas. You will be responsible for the financial supervision of BCER. Our clients are Asylum Seekers, who do not receive Centrelink, Medicare or any support from elsewhere. Through the Second Bite program, our Pantry provides food security for the most vulnerable people in our community. To ensure the continuation of this service, we need drivers to collect prepacked boxes of fruit and veg on Mondays and Tuesdays. No need to commit to every week, you will be a part of a team and can do weekly/fortnightly or monthly.

Settlement Support Volunteer will provide hands-on, practical assistance to newly arrived refugee families in their initial settlement so that they become familiar with essential services and learn about daily life in Australia.
