About this opportunity
As a valued KEMH Pathfinder, your role will entail:
• Greeting and welcoming patients and visitors to KEMH.
• Gaining a comprehensive understanding of the hospital layout and protocols.
• Assisting patients and visitors with reception check-ins.
• Escorting patients and visitors to their hospital destination.
• Providing support to the COVID entry staff if required.
• Building relationships with hospital staff.
• Providing relevant info on the hospital and local amenities such as cafes, shops, rest rooms, baby feeding areas, taxis, car parking and public transport.
• Promoting additional services within KEMH.
• Identifying patients/visitors who appear ‘lost’.
• Being a positive ambassador for RMHC WA.
Additional requirements
Covid-19 vaccination .
This role requires a positive, friendly nature as it involves direct
interaction with patients and visitors to KEMH.
The Pathfinder Team will need to have a strong knowledge of the
hospital and its operations.
Cultural awareness and understanding will be of upmost
importance.
Volunteers will be required to complete a police clearance (RMHC
WA to arrange) and hold a current Working with Children Check.
Relevant COVID19 vaccination certificate.
All volunteers must be aged 18+
Shifts available Monday - Sunday approx. 6:30am – 10am / 10am – 1pm / 1pm – 4pm / 4pm – 7pm. We ask for a minimum commitment of one shift per fortnight.

Comprehensive induction provided (which includes Safeguarding Children and Young People & Hand Hygiene online modules) and on-going support from the RMHC WA team. Completion of KEMH Online Orientation & Induction
ReimbursementRMHC WA volunteers can access KEMH car parking whilst on shift - RMHC WA covers this expense.
