Our youth cadets participate in interesting and challenging training that: Provides practical life skills Develops leadership, teamwork and initiative talents Fosters qualities of community responsibility and service Cadets are aged 12 to 16 years of age (can be up to 18)

General training is once a fortnight which involves everything needed to know on search, rescue to enhance skills. Commitment to attending training both fortnightly and over a weekend is a requirement. Able to work in a team and a able to commit to courses. Enjoy working with others and want to learn about emergency services

We are seeking Volunteers who love to play games, garden, chat, have a laugh, have fun and who can give a few hours a week to spend time with our residents in our Wattle Grove Community in Lalor. Cinemallunga is a non for profit organisation providing Community Cinema events, show casing feature films, with the emphasis on fun & frivolity. Audience participation is highly encouraged. The shows take place every two months & moviegoers are encouraged to dress up, and get into the spirit of the “shenanigans” that go along with the movie’s theme. From stacking chairs to exotic dancing!! There is something for everyone.

When a natural disaster strikes or an emergency situation arises, DFES’s State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers can be found providing a wide range of volunteer services to help the community cope from the impact a disaster. This involves providing emergency repairs on buildings, to restoration of essential services and ferrying cargo and passengers across flood waters. Helping the community to recover by responding to natural disasters is only part of SES’ responsibility.

Being part of a team providing support for first responders, such as those from police or fire departments, in emergency situations.

Preparation for programs involves a variety of tasks, including: pre-recording content, scheduling content, editing audio files, downloading content from the web, ripping content from CD’s, & maintaining the music library. We are a community station that broadcasts family friendly content that aims to bring hope, share joy & build community.
