General training is once a fortnight which involves everything needed to know on search, rescue to enhance skills. Commitment to attending training both fortnightly and over a weekend is a requirement. Able to work in a team and a able to commit to courses. Would you like to assist the Head Trainer with timely and adequate first aid? (in accordance with SFL code of conduct). What about assisting with the recruitment, retention and succession planning of other trainers? First Aid qualifications or nursing qualifications needed as you need to be able to apply basic taping, wound management, medical conditions and injury prevention & management. Sound like you? When a natural disaster strikes or an emergency situation arises, DFES’s State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers can be found providing a wide range of volunteer services to help the community cope from the impact a disaster. This involves providing emergency repairs on buildings, to restoration of essential services and ferrying cargo and passengers across flood waters. Helping the community to recover by responding to natural disasters is only part of SES’ responsibility.

Being part of a team providing support for first responders, such as those from police or fire departments, in emergency situations.

Community Radio Program Preparation with local community radio. 103.9HopeFM is founded on Christian principles, and is operated entirely by volunteers. Preparation for programs involves a variety of tasks, including: pre-recording content, scheduling content, editing audio files, downloading content from the web, ripping content from CD’s, & maintaining the music library. We are a community station that broadcasts family friendly content that aims to bring hope, share joy & build community.

Do you have technical skills that are currently under-utilized? 103.9HopeFM could be the place for you! Your role would be to provide the vital computer and broadcasting technical support for the studio and broadcasting from our studio, and outside broadcasts in the community.
