The Pillowcase Program is a school-based disaster preparedness program designed to help students aged 8-10 (years 3 to 4) build their knowledge and capacity in disaster preparedness. We are seeing emergencies occur more frequently and with more severity. This project is part of the broader, emergency preparedness, response and recovery programs of Australian Red Cross.

While the primary role of the SES is to respond to incidents involving floods and storms, it also provides crucial support and assistance to other emergency service organisations. SES is open to men and women with a reasonable degree of physical fitness and a passion to get involved within their community. When a natural disaster strikes or an emergency situation arises, DFES’s SES volunteers can be found providing a wide range of volunteer services to help the community.

Volunteer Marine Rescue members serve their respective communities on a voluntary basis by undertaking both operational and non-operational roles. VMRS groups work in close liaison with the Western Australia Police, coordinating and performing a range of marine rescue activities for the WA community. Phone Coordinators do not take 000 calls, but are contacted by the central St John's Communications Team with relevant information for incidents.

St John is looking for local legends to support their regional communities as a Volunteer Ambulance Officer. This role involves attending emergency and non-emergency ambulance calls, as well as other duties as required. All training provided.

General training is once a fortnight which involves everything needed to know on search, rescue to enhance skills. The club is looking for a Physio to join the Sports & Medicine team providing with paramedic and remedial massages to players. The skilled volunteer will diagnose injuries and provide rehab advice to patients whilst at the Rugby Club. The volunteer will also advise coaches if/when a player can return to action.
