We need a handy person with a green thumb to maintain our facilities here at Gailes Community House. We are a small neighbourhood centre based in an old housing commission house with some lovely hedges and gardens that need some tendering every now and then. Approved volunteers agree to provide mentoring and friendship to a young person between the ages of 7 and 17. They commit to spending quality time with a carefully selected young person from a vulnerable or disadvantaged background for approximately 2 hours per fortnight for a period of 12 months. You will not be sitting in an office all day but going out to meet mentees.

Wildlife Rescue Australia (WRA) is a not-for-profit voluntary association, operating throughout Australia and staffed exclusively by home-based volunteers. It is dedicated to the rescue of Australian native animals, including birds and reptiles. WRA operates a national 24/7 emergency call centre for the rescue of native wildlife.

The helpline was established in 2009, and is the only such service in Australia helping people living with pain. Guides have a personal connection to chronic pain and are able to support callers with chronic pain.
