The Redland Community Centre (RCC) is a non-profit community based organisation. The Head Office is in Capalaba. RCC also has Outreach Service Centres in Wynnum, Russell & Macleay Islands.
RCC provides a range of vital community services throughout the Redlands.
RCC are seeking volunteers to join their Emergency Relief (ER) Volunteer team on a casual basis. ER Volunteers assist people experiencing crisis in a way that maintains dignity and encourages self-reliance. A client accessing the program will be supported with wrap around support through services, information and advocacy.
Successful volunteers will need the following skills:
- strong communication skills
- good problem-solving skills and the ability to work through challenging situations
- be accepting of other people’s values and lifestyles
- the ability to relate to people from various walks of life
- be non-judgmental
- ability to work within a team environment
- good computer skills.
Emergency Relief Volunteer tasks include:
- conducting assessments with clients
- identifying and recommending additional services to clients
- having/developing knowledge of the different services and pathways of referral
- data entry.
Additional requirements
Covid-19 vaccination . National Police Certificate *. Working with Children Check *.
RCC will assist successful applicants to obtain a Blue Card and National Police Check.
ER Volunteers are needed on a casual basis to cover holiday periods and leave.
