Way Finding Volunteers help families navigate their way around the Queensland Children’s Hospital (QCH).Everyday QCH sees more than 1000 families come through the doors and the Way Finders are often the first point of contact for worried and often hurried parents, offering a welcoming smile and a gentle guiding hand.

As an Operating Theatre Recovery volunteer, you will work closely with staff to support the post-anaesthetic care of patients by providing comfort, as well as reconnecting and regulating caregiver visits. Volunteers also support the Queensland Children’s Hospital Recovery staff by answering the phones and maintaining comfort supplies.

Provide support to parents and carers entering the operating suites at the Queensland Children’s Hospital. Volunteers help ease the anxiety of a child’s surgical journey by working closely with medical staff to provide information and emotional support to parents and carers.

We are looking for Volunteers to join our existing force of 'Everyday Super Heroes' as a Weekend Warrior, at our Townsville House. In this volunteer role, you will be the face of the organization and the first point of contact for our families, volunteers, donors and visitors who walk through our doors during weekend hours and provide support in the event of an emergency. You will ensure efficiency of House operations at weekends, with 3 different 4 hour shifts available between 8am - 8pm.

We are looking for applicants that are passionate about helping our charity support seriously ill children and their families by becoming a volunteer within our after-hours 'House Custodian' team. To act as after-hours sentinels who ensure the efficiency of evening House operations from 4.30PM – 8.00PM Monday - Friday and weekends Saturday & Sunday 3 shift per day available :- 8.00am - 12.00pm 12.00pm - 4.00pm, 4.00pm - 8.00pm.
