About this opportunity

The House Custodian role will include the following duties: • Providing guest support after hours, including checking guests into the House, or checking guests out on departure • The provision of extra towels for guests • Providing relief reception support • Taking accommodation requests • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and provide immediate temporary solutions where possible • Receiving and/or completing guest occupancy paperwork • Assisting with general housekeeping duties including emptying bins, turning lights off, ensuring doors are locked and doing general clean and tidy of kitchen areas when necessary • In the event of an emergency, provide support to the House and the families residing on the premises

We are looking for applicants that posses the following skills/experience: • A friendly, nurturing, trustworthy, patient, compassionate, tolerant, reliable and vigilant character • Volunteers performing this role must be able to demonstrate a history of skilled, accident free driving • Own transport or have the ability to travel to and from the site • Open and accepting of diversity; able to demonstrate empathy • Emotionally stable and resilient to potential high pressure scenarios • Customer orientated, outgoing, confident and proactive • Team player whilst able to work autonomously • Good communicator, able to engage with a wide range of people • Preferred experience working with families and children • Committed to understanding and contributing to the RMHC RMHC NA Mission and Vision • Be able to adhere to the Code of Conduct at all times • Able to adhere to policies and procedures • Able to maintain strict confidentiality • Be able to seek guidance when required

Covid-19 vaccination . National Police Certificate *. Working with Children Check *.

As part of volunteering with RMHC North Australia, you will be required to hold or obtain a current Working with Children Check (Blue card), a National Criminal History Check and successfully complete our induction process.

Time Required

Our House Custodian hours are Monday to Friday 4.30PM to 8.00PM and Saturday & Sunday, 3 shifts 8.00am - 12.00pm, 12.00pm - 4.00pm and 4.00pm - 8.00pm. We ask that you please commit at least 1 shift of 4 hours per fortnight
