Our steam tug Waratah built 1902 at Cockatoo Island badly needs help to maintain paintwork by removing and treating rust, then re-painting. The services are required of a person to co-ordinate maintenance of the building exterior and interior and its immediate grounds. This will involve performance of some basic maintenance and gardening, as well as organising tradespeople and Council staff to carry out other maintenance activities.

The services are required of a person to co-ordinate the cataloguing and filing of photographs donated to the Macleay River Historical Society. The person will also be responsible for the maintenance of our collection of over 60,000 historical photographs and records associated with these.

Sydney Heritage Fleet owns, restores and operates historic steam ships, sailing ships and many smaller launches. Our current major project is the restoration to full ocean-going condition of John Oxley a former Moreton Bay pilot steamer, 760 tons. You, the volunteer will be a skilled welder and steel fabricator to aid in the final stages of hull restoration, particularly the forecastle. Your team leader is gentle giant whose welding surpasses marine standard for boiler work.
