General Volunteers are needed to assist with Events and Festivals We have many annual, as well as one off events that we need volunteer participation. eg; Australia Day Event etc.

Help with fundraising campaigns as required (Eg. attending events to sell tickets, putting up posters, sausage sizzles etc.)

Provide Psychological First Aid to individuals and communities affected by Emergency and disaster events. Provide a listening ear and compassionate care to assist them to recover from the trauma they have been though.

The Townsville Folk Festival is an annual, volunteer run event. It is a family friendly 4 day camping and live music festival.

We are looking for a Food Program Volunteer to collect food from various shopping centres using their own vehicle. We will be holding a Gala in August where volunteers are required to attend the event and assist with selling raffle tickets & gifts, receiving/handling donations and assisting with silent and live auctions.

Our Cadet Program runs from April to October each year. It is open to kids between the age of 12 - 16. Cadets are trained in various facets of Firefighting and other skills. Teamwork and Communication are a big part of this program and we have had many of our Cadets stay on after turning 16 to become Active Volunteer Firefighters. Cadets may also have the opportunity to go on Camps run by the Brigade, DFES also give Cadets opportunities to go on camps.
