Australian Refugee Volunteers (ARV) is an entirely volunteer-run non-religious and apolitical organisation that runs exciting programs for children from asylum seeker and refugee backgrounds in Sydney. Our excursions are a mix of fun and developmental activities that give our clients skills and confidence whilst allowing them to just be kids for the day! James Craig is world famous restoration of a classic 19th century fully rigged iron barque. It is moored at Wharf 7 Pyrmont Bay next door to Australian National Maritime Museum but is owned by Sydney Heritage Fleet. Our organisation can be called "a happy shed". There are no cliques, no politics, just lots of smiles and a friendly welcome.

Sydney Heritage Fleet needs deck crew and maintenance crew members on its two regularly-used coal-fired steamers. We own and operate several restored historic vessels representing our maritime heritage, including steam tug Waratah (Cockatoo Island Dockyard 1902, VIP steam launch Lady Hopetoun, (Sydney 1902), Kanangra a 1,000 - passenger double-ended harbour ferry, John Oxley a former Moreton Bay pilot steamer some restored vintage diesel launches and especially tall ship James Craig
