CaringKids is seeking passionate and dedicated toy workshop volunteers to join our team. Volunteers will assist with checking and sorting of toy donations, and packing bespoke Toy Boxes filled with games, toys, stationery and sports equipment. These toy boxes we like to call 'Joy Boxes' are created and shipped to children caring for a family member living with a disability or illness across Australia.

CareFlight is an integrated aeromedical service with a mission to save lives, speed recovery and serve the community. Our specialist doctors, nurses and paramedics deliver advanced trauma treatment and critical care to the seriously injured at the accident site. We use helicopters, aeroplanes and road vehicles, to reach patients wherever they are.

MDFA's Peer Support Groups provide a safe and welcoming space for people living with aged-related macular degeneration to share their stories and ask questions of their peers. The Facilitator role is well suited to someone with good communications skills and confidence in public speaking. Ideally you will have experience facilitating a support group and/or demonstrate the ability to lead a balanced discussion. Personal experience with macular disease is desirable, not necessary.

The Macular Disease Foundation of Australia (MDFA) is the national peak body representing the macular disease community.  Our four pillars of work include:  prevention and early detection, supporting the community to live optimally with macular conditions, systemic advocacy and research.  There are an estimated 1.4m Australians with some evidence of age-related macular degeneration, which is the most common macular disease.

Working as part of a team of volunteers, you will provide customer service and sales assistance at the Noffs Opportunity Shop. Day-to-day tasks can include; advising customers of pricing, entering all takings in to the cash register, clothes and goods sorting, and ensuring the facility is clean and tidy.

Working with a small team of staff and other volunteers, you will help run Brekkie Club in the school grounds of Wiley Park Girls High School.

Assist visitors and outpatients get to their destination within the hospital, both by giving directions or walking with them. Lots of people contact and a great opportunity to help people.

Drive visitor buggy within Westmead Hospital and provide our visitors with valuable assistance to get around the Hospital.

As a volunteer you and your volunteer colleagues will learn about the NSW Mental Health Act, in particular the role of the Mental Health Review Tribunal. To facilitate an understanding of this information for the relatives, carers and families attending a Hearing, our service supports a volunteer family support program. Specifically designed for the weekly Hearings, family provide positive feedback about the support provided.

Very special volunteers are required to visit patients and their families in a home environment and provide companionship to the patient and respite for the carer.
