Mentoring Men has available volunteer positions for men to be professionally trained to support other men in our community. You will have the opportunity to help and guide a man in need and be a part of our organisation's mission to support men in their life journey. All men regardless of their background or beliefs are welcome to apply for our program.

Our Mentor Program works with men from all sorts of backgrounds who are interviewed, screened and trained to be matched with a young man (10-18 years old). The Mentors are usually older than 24 years old and have had their own unique journey through life and want to give back. The Program requires a commitment of 2 years with an expectation of a couple of hours 1:1 contact per fortnight.

Maintenance supervisor and member of the Abbeyfield Garran Inc management committee We provide accommodation for 10 young people with a mild intellectual disability. The house is run by a volunteer management committee and employs a full time live in housekeeper and two casual staff to cover the weekend roster. This position is responsible for supervising and providing ongoing building maintenance. You will have other volunteers to assist you in this task..

Abbeyfield Garran is a not for profit which provides affordable, inclusive, homelike and safe accommodation for people with a mild cognitive disability where residents can maintain their independence with dignity and choice. The Garran house is run by a volunteer management committee and employs a housekeeper to provide meals and support the residents on a day- to-day basis. We have 10 young adult residents.

Educational Mentors (Tutors) provide 1 on 1 educational assistance 1-2 hours a week to vulnerable children aged 6-16. Most of the children/young people referred to us are about 2 yrs behind their age in at least English & Maths. You can help us break a child out of a cycle of poor educational achievement. Kids Friend mentors spend 2-3 hours a week with a vulnerable child aged from 6-16, for friendship and fun. You become a special person outside the family who supports the child's social and emotional needs with an aim to increase the child's confidence, personal skills and resilience. You can take the child to visit places within the community or your own home to bake, play video games, or just hang out. The program provides special interest group discussion's for blind and low vision people all around Australia to interact with one another via phone. The volunteer Facilitator is charged with connecting the groups on a regular connection schedule, promotes positive communication between the participants and adds to the discussion.
