Way Finding Volunteers help families navigate their way around the Queensland Children’s Hospital (QCH).Everyday QCH sees more than 1000 families come through the doors and the Way Finders are often the first point of contact for worried and often hurried parents, offering a welcoming smile and a gentle guiding hand.

As an Operating Theatre Recovery volunteer, you will work closely with staff to support the post-anaesthetic care of patients by providing comfort, as well as reconnecting and regulating caregiver visits. Approved volunteers agree to provide mentoring and friendship to a young person between the ages of 7 and 17. They commit to spending quality time with a carefully selected young person from a vulnerable or disadvantaged background for approximately 2 hours per fortnight for a period of 12 months.
