Help facilitate play, activities and distraction for patients, siblings and visitors at the Queensland Children’s Hospital. Join our volunteer team to provide moments of happiness and social connection in the hospital environment.

Volunteers with the Supported Playgroup offer their time, enthusiasm and encouragement to support the children and families attending the playgroup. They assist with set up, morning tea and activities.

Volunteer Home Visiting aims to empower families and enhance their social inclusion through building their confidence and connection to their community with the support and companionship of a volunteer. It combines multicultural performances, rides, great food and diverse stalls. Child and Family Service on the Gold Coast, Early Years Centre provides educational and social support to families and their children. Volunteers support staff to facilitate groups and develop connections with families attending. If you enjoy working with children and families or looking to work in the field, this role could suit you!

The Social Connection Volunteer will support people who feel isolated in building social connections within the local community.

You will be matched with families and tasks based on your experience, skills and interests and the family’s needs. We would like you to commit for 12 months and to be flexible when volunteering. The support you are expected to give will vary from family to family and may change during your time with us. We will provide you with adequate training and supervision.

Family Drug Support (FDS) offers a 24/7 National Support Line for families & carers supporting someone with substance use issues. Volunteers are trained in the Family Drug Support model to offer non-judgmental support to reduce the isolation and stigma that people experience.

Our Pathfinders are RMHC WA advocates across King Edward Memorial Hospital. They support patients and visitors to the hospital and provide assistance to hospital staff, clinics and wards.

Our Dinner Squad provide assistance to our Nedlands House during the busy dinner time period.

According to Foodbank 3.7 million households in Australia experienced food insecurity in the last 12 months. That’s more than the number of households in Sydney and Melbourne combined. We need a Van driver to collect rescued food items from supermarkets and drop off to Boronia.

Come along to our Play and Learn Playgroup at Moorditj Kulungar Kwinana. This session provides learning through play opportunities and a safe space for children and families to connect. The Playgroup is for children aged 0 – 4 years led by our Aboriginal Resource Worker, we provide opportunities for Aboriginal families who visit us to learn about the first 3 years of a child’s life and prepare them for school.
