We have positions available for people who are interested in becoming a Volunteer Firefighter. There is no cost for the volunteer other than some of your time. Training is provided for all new Volunteers. St John's Phone Coordinators work as part of a rostered team. While on shift, Phone Coordinators are responsible for dispatching the local volunteer ambulance crew as required. Phone Coordinators do not take 000 calls, but are contacted by the central St John's Communications Team with relevant information for incidents.

To continue to operate in your role, you must maintain the competencies required & appropriate level of fitness as roles are physically demanding.
