Through our volunteer programs, we provide social support and friendship to people with a cognitive disability and older Australians who are at risk of loneliness and social isolation.

We are currently looking for Volunteer Drivers to pick up or drop off older persons in company vehicles so they can attend the Hyland House Respite Centre in Petrie. A company vehicle is provided.

We are looking for persons with an interest in sharing their time, skills, talents, and knowledge with us while developing friendships with the people we support, sharing experiences, and encouraging them to participate. It’s heaps of fun for all involved!

Using your own vehicle, assist those in the community who can't drive due to illness or circumstance get out for medical appointments, funerals, shopping, exercise, social connection. Some drives may be only 100 metres and some as far as 100 kms. Drivers are never asked to do more than they are comfortable with. Some reimbursement is available to cover petrol costs. Drivers are kept connected with a newsletter and monthly morning teas.
