We will be planting native vegetation to create Urban Shade Forests, to help cool our cities, create habitat for native animals and connect the local community. Community Nursery Assistants support the propagation of local provenance native plants for re-vegetation of the local environment within the City of Greater Geraldton. Many and varied tasks are available, depending on the time of season. Duties include seed collecting, seed sorting, decontaminating benches / pots, pricking plants and propagation. Friends of Hindmarsh River Estuary are a friendly group who undertakes a range of activities to enhance the biodiversity of the Hindmarsh River Estuary. Would you like to do something meaningful for the environment? Have an hour or two you can assist our friendly group

Formed in 2016, our volunteers get to experience a beautiful ever-changing view and lovely breezes while they contribute their time in the garden beds. Meeting on Tuesdays the Sandpipers work along the Esplanade, Pioneer Cemetery and other high-profile green spaces in the CBD to support Council in keeping our gardens looking spick and span. The Sandpipers group volunteers on Tuesday mornings from 9am to noon.

We are presently in an urban setting and need to clean up the weeds, mow the lawn regularly and try to enhance the property with shrubs to bring some nature to this bland backyard.
