From working in the nursery and in our gardens. including the Community Garden, helping with our projects and events to helping in the office, our volunteers give a large amount of time. We value your skills and would love to create opportunities that interest you. We like to provide co-learning opportunities for skill sharing.

The Hyland House Respite Centre in Petrie is looking for people to assist older persons and people with a disability in maintaining our lovely centre garden. This includes potting and watering plants and chatting about their upkeep. No special skills are needed, just patience and an interest in gardening.

Want to help restore our native bushland? Bassendean Preservaton Group (BPG) is a local community bushcare group. We are looking for volunteers to help out at our native plant nursery in Ascot on Wednesday mornings, on a regular basis. Also to help out with bushland plantings on occasional weekend mornings throughout the year, mostly in winter. We plant around the Bassendean area, mostly around the foreshore and wetland areas. You are welcome to come on either Wednesdays, weekends, or both.

You'll be actively involved in caring for your local reservoir reserve and enhancing the experience for visitors. Activities include bushcare, revegetation, habitat improvement, biodiversity surveys (e.g. birds, frogs, plants), fish stocking and supporting community events.
