The Nixon Skinner Conservation Park comprises of 8 hectares of native vegetation and is situated towards the southern end of the Myponga Reservoir. The park is an island of native vegetation in a picturesque setting, framed by the Myponga Reservoir and pine plantations. Working bees are held on the first Friday of each month commencing at 9.00 am.

Our retail area is open to the public for plant sales. More indigenous plants in gardens and larger revegetation projects provide habitat for native animals, birds and insects, and reduce species loss. We rely on volunteers but lockdowns hit us hard. The homestead was built between 1862 and 1880 for John Maley (King of the Greenough Flats), miller, storekeeper, hotel proprietor, entrepreneur and father of 14 children. The museum examines the social life of the Front Greenough Flats from Aboriginal time until today. View the historic trees and wander the community vege garden. Open daily 8.30am to 3.00pm
