South Fremantle Save the Children is a quirky and fun Op Shop, full of hidden gems and something to suit everyone. We've recently re-opened on the weekends and are looking for volunteers to join our Team. The Nixon Skinner Conservation Park comprises of 8 hectares of native vegetation and is situated towards the southern end of the Myponga Reservoir. The park is an island of native vegetation in a picturesque setting, framed by the Myponga Reservoir and pine plantations. Working bees are held on the first Friday of each month commencing at 9.00 am.

You will assist local experts identify, measure and map endangered plants at the reserve as part of the NSW Government's Saving our Species program.

This event lets you experience life as a ranger, and assist our local conservation experts with important wildlife monitoring – check and re-set wildlife traps, collect data on captured animals and help release the Eastern Barred Bandicoot's back into the wild.

Our retail area is open to the public for plant sales. More indigenous plants in gardens and larger revegetation projects provide habitat for native animals, birds and insects, and reduce species loss. We rely on volunteers but lockdowns hit us hard. Please help us get back to the thriving nursery from before the pandemic!
