Good communication skills are a vital part of being a good dentist or oral health therapist. Dentists and oral health therapists need to be able to communicate well with their patients for many reasons. This is why, as a volunteer helping to prepare our students to eventually interact with real dental patients, you’ll be providing an extremely valuable service to your community.

The Inala Multicultural Festival is a FREE one-day-only event, available to families in our local community and surrounding areas. It combines multicultural performances, rides, great food and diverse stalls. Kookaburra Kids are seeking bubbly Activity Day Volunteers to attend our activity days in Perth. Activities include laser tag, pizza making, bowling, movies, rock climbing and many more! The role would suit an individual who has a passion for our cause, reliable, energetic, has the ability to relate to kids and have fun!

Maroondah Winter Shelter provides a safe and warm place for homeless males to stay overnight during the winter months, 7 nights per week. Home cooked meals are provided. As a volunteer you would be making a difference to the lives of those who have been sleeping rough. Being able to listen, show care and treat our guests with dignity and compassion is what we ask for.

Can you help to heat up meals, serve meals or do dishes? Chat with guests and share a meal with them. Our guests are isolated or financially disadvantaged people who need some extra support with meals and being with community.

The volunteer will assist with the early literacy program Paint Bunbury REaD which encourages everyone to "talk, read, sing, rhyme, yarn, draw and play with children every day from birth. The volunteer's roles will include monitoring the book swap boxes, creating some resources and assisting at story time events.

Kororoit Creek Neighbourhood House is looking for volunteers who can read with students, help with their homework, run games or activities (sport, art, music, science etc) or even just help prepare healthy snacks. Our homework club works with primary school children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds in Sunshine, Albion and surrounding suburbs to support their learning and confidence.

Sit and Read with students as part of the Reading Mentor program, any afternoon from 2pm to 3pm.
