The Volunteers primary role is to assist the participants to ride a wave! Each participant has a different disability which can either be physical, intellectual or both. Disabled Surfers Association - SA Branch assist them to enjoy the experience of surfing & ensure they stay safe & injury free in the process. A surfing background is an advantage for volunteers but not essential. However you need to be a physically fit, aged 17+ & be comfortable in the water for periods of up to 2 hours.

Volunteering with Valley RDA is a very rewarding experience assisting riders with varied abilities to reach their goals as a rider whilst improving their physical mental and emotional well being. Fortnightly Saturdays 1pm to 4pm in Secret Harbour. Our group assistants help young people on the Autism Spectrum with various social activities. Activities include arts, crafts, bowling, laser tag and more. This rewarding opportunity would suit those studying community services, social work, psychology etc
