About this opportunity

Our social groups consists of teams of 4 volunteers to help with a group of 12 young people on the Autism Spectrum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting Group Facilitators during various activities by supervising the participants.
  • Preparing materials and setting the environment for the session.
  • Encouraging participants to interact with one another.
  • Encouraging participants to participate in activities.
  • Building rapport with both staff and participants.
  • Record weekly observations, goals and case notes
  • Other similar related tasks as required.

Desirable Skills:

  • Team player
  • Shows initiative
  • Ability to care for children/teenagers/young adults with a disability.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge about autism (some training provided)


Additional requirements

National Police Certificate *. NDIS screening check . Working with Children Check *.

Time Required

3 hours per fortnight. Every second Saturday 1pm to 4pm
