RDA is a voluntary organisation providing equine-assisted activities for people with disabilities to develop and enhance abilities through programs such as riding, dressage and carriage driving. Horses provide vital mental and physical stimulation for our disabled participants, improving their confidence, increasing their autonomy and delivering immeasurable amounts of pleasure. Retail Assistant at the Friends of the Pound Pre-Loved opportunity shop. The duties will be under the direction of the Team Leader Pre-Loved and will involve sorting donated garments and accessories, washing and ironing items for sale, display items as directed. Retail experience would be an asset but not necessary. Friends of the Pound (Tweed) Inc. are an animal rescue organization and rely on the sale of pre-loved items to support the feeding and vet work of the animals in our care.

We need people who will play a vital role in giving a hand up to people in need by volunteering at our warehouse to sort through items collected in our donation bins. All the items collected need to be checked for signs of damage before being prepared to distribute directly to people in need and to our retail stores.

When a natural disaster strikes or an emergency situation arises, DFES’s State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers can be found providing a wide range of volunteer services to help the community cope from the impact a disaster. This involves providing emergency repairs on buildings, to restoration of essential services and ferrying cargo and passengers across flood waters. Helping the community to recover by responding to natural disasters is only part of SES’ responsibility.

The SES Mandurah are looking for young people to join their youth cadet program to have fun with other young people in the community, while also developing new skills and participating in exciting training opportunities.
