There are many ways to contribute to making this vision a reality. One of the best ways is to become part of their Freedom Wheels Bicycle Program. As a Freedom Wheels Volunteer, you would custom build or modify bikes and trikes for children, young adults & seniors.

As a Technical Volunteer, you will design, tailor-make or modify things to suit the needs of the client. Technical Volunteers work out of their own sheds in their own time. Consequently, you will need access to your own workshop and tools. This role is for those with an eye for detail who don’t mind getting their hands dirty. Duties include maintaining the appearance or our iconic collection dog donation tins, washing them with soapy water, replacing damaged stickers and security chain. Volunteers support the collection dog volunteer driver role by ensuring there is enough clean mini dog collection tins to be used on the following weeks scheduled collection run.

Do you have a woodwork background with some mental health training and group work experience? If so this is a unique volunteer role that could lead to some paid work also. The Workbench program offer a psychosocial based Day-2-Day support program, which gives individuals with a primary mental health diagnosis, the ability to participate in supported social groups with semi-structured activities. A trade background or previous experience in woodwork is required.
