While the primary role of the SES is to respond to incidents involving floods and storms, it also provides crucial support and assistance to other emergency service organisations. The Meals Program Volunteer is required from 10.00am to 2pm every Thursday to work with staff and consumers to organise and prepare a communal lunch at the Asylum Seeker Welcome Centre. The volunteer will work autonomously and ideally have experience working in a commercial kitchen. Creativity is necessary in order to create a lunch menu using food items that are available in the foodbank during that week. Your work will offer comfort to those seeking asylum in this country.

Willunga Netball Club was first established in 1924 in Willunga. We now play at the Willunga Recreation Park on Saturday’s during the winter season and play in the Great Southern Netball Association. We train on Tuesday nights with U9 starting a 4:00pm and seniors finishing at approximately 8:30pm. This involves providing emergency repairs on buildings, to restoration of essential services and ferrying cargo and passengers across flood waters. Helping the community to recover by responding to natural disasters is only part of SES’ responsibility.
