About this opportunity
The Asylum Seeker Welcome Centre works with the most vulnerable asylum seekers living lawfully in the community while they await the outcome of their claims for protection. The ASWC provides: professional casework support, housing, basic living assistance payments, and help with utilities, emergency relief and advocacy.
In working collectively with volunteers we aim to ensure that the people we support feel safe and have as many opportunities for health, happiness and success as possible. The Food Relief Program Support Volunteer team is an essential part of the functioning and operations of the ASWC.
Additional requirements
National Police Certificate *. Working with Children Check *.
Weekly commitment, one to two days per week. Times include Wednesday 10am-4pm and/or Thursday 10am-4pm.
