for Pearn's Steam World - Museums & Heritage
An opportunity for those who love model/miniature railways. We have a 7 ¼” gauge railway around the grounds that is available to visitors most days we are open. We have 3 locomotives (Steam, petrol, hydraulic). We are looking for someone who will be a practical leading-hand for this museum activity: From driving to track-work. The line has opportunities for development and a range of projects are possible with the right person to take the lead.

Hobart City Mission's Sorting Warehouse is the engine room for our Retail Op shops. Donated electrical items are sorted and sent out to stores for people to purchase, instead of sending them to landfill! Sold donations raise money to support Hobart's vulnerable community experiencing crisis.

This role is for those with an eye for detail who don’t mind getting their hands dirty. Duties include maintaining the appearance or our iconic collection dog donation tins, washing them with soapy water, replacing damaged stickers and security chain. Volunteers support the collection dog volunteer driver role by ensuring there is enough clean mini dog collection tins to be used on the following weeks scheduled collection run.

This is a great role for those that would enjoy representing Guide Dogs Tasmania by being face to face with our amazing supporters at events. Various duties include providing information about our vital programs and services, accurately recording sales of merchandise, donations and donor details, cash handling, retail skills, and additional optional opportunities for pubic speaking and presenting.

Helping adults to improve their reading, writing and/or maths through ongoing support. As a volunteer, you will provide literacy learning support, tailored to the learning needs of adult individuals and groups. Our Literacy Coordinator will support you to plan and deliver lessons.
for Harvest Launceston Community Farmers' Market - Community Services
Each Saturday from 12:30pm-1:30pm four dedicated volunteers help to pack down all the public seating, marquees and infrastructure that is used in the public spaces at the market. These areas are what sets our beautiful market apart from other markets, and gives us our true community feel. This role requires a moderate amount of manual handling including bending, lifting and moving marquee weights (up to 20kg)
