Are you a well organised person who has a passion for the environment? The Helena River Catchment Group undertakes landcare and river rehabilitation projects on the Helena River and throughout the catchment. The small group of active volunteers is currently recruiting new members to build capacity for more landcare projects and to fill committee roles, particularly for the position of Secretary.

Our ER Volunteers deliver a responsive and appropriate service providing equitable access to all members of the community. Swan Estuary Reserves Action Group, SERAG, is a local group of volunteers who enjoy hands-on caring and restoring health to the A-Class foreshore and bush reserves adjacent to the Swan River Estuary Marine Park on Melville’s river front in Attadale, Alfred Cove and Tompkins Park. Volunteers will weed and/or plant for two hours of a morning, then share a cuppa and cake together (provided) whilst enjoying the beautiful location that they are helping to restore and maintain.

Breastfeeding counsellors are trained volunteers who offer breastfeeding information and mother-to-mother support to women whose babies are breastfeeding and to their families. Their area of expertise is breastfeeding support. The counsellors have to have breastfed at least one baby for a minimum of 6 months and hold a current Certificate IV in Breastfeeding Education (Counselling) (or equivalent) and have to complete ongoing training to up d ate their knowledge and skills.
