Creeds Farm Living and Learning Centre works with communities in Melbourne’s high-growth suburbs of Epping North and Wollert in the City of Whittlesea. Inclusion Melbourne is a participant in the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS); a national program that aims to enrich the quality of life of older people and enhance their social connectedness. As a volunteer, you will be making a real difference by: • Spending time with participants engaged in shared interest activities • Providing companionship and support • Reducing the social isolation and loneliness experienced by some older people.

Inclusion Melbourne’s Leisure Buddy program matches like-minded people to undertake social activities within our community on a fortnightly basis. We are focused on creating genuine, long term connections between volunteers and our Leisure Buddy participants. Therefore, we require a minimum commitment of 12 months and two to three hours per fortnight.

JoCare understands that technology can help stave off loneliness and can enrich an older person’s life by opening up communication with family, grandchildren, community events, online courses, online meetings and can provide another avenue for regular contact. JoCare Digital Mentors provide support to older people in a group setting where volunteers have the support of other mentors. You do not need to be an expert, just enjoy the benefits of technology. You will be matched with families and tasks based on your experience, skills and interests and the family’s needs. We would like you to commit for 12 months and to be flexible when volunteering.
