The Knox Toy Library Inc provides the perfect alternative to buying a room full of toys that are no longer played with. But we need some volunteers to help us with our Friday and Saturday borrowing sessions.

Kororoit Creek Neighbourhood House is looking for volunteers who can read with students, help with their homework, run games or activities (sport, art, music, science etc) or even just help prepare healthy snacks. Our homework club works with primary school children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds in Sunshine, Albion and surrounding suburbs to support their learning and confidence.

The primary aim of the program is to provide a supportive environment where children can receive individual tutoring for basic literacy and numeracy skills and/or assistance with homework tasks (e.g. reading). The tutor works one to one with a Year 3-8 student every Wednesday afternoon during the school terms. Tutor will need to be available during 3.15pm to 6pm.

The Coordinator will commence as a dog reading team volunteer and after two school terms receive training to take on the Coordinator position. The Coordinator will recruit, train, support, manage and give recognition to volunteers within the region. The position will also raise awareness of the Story Dogs brand and services. This is a non paid, volunteer role. This role requires you to have a suitable dog.
