The role of the Volunteer is to aid the consumer during their journey through the Emergency Department at Canberra Hospital; to ease emotional distress and anxiety experienced by patients, their families, and friends through the provision of practical support under the guidance of Emergency Department staff.

The Coordinator will commence as a dog reading team volunteer and after two school terms receive training to take on the Coordinator position. The Coordinator will recruit, train, support, manage and give recognition to volunteers within the region. The position will also raise awareness of the Story Dogs brand and services. This is a non paid, volunteer role. This role requires you to have a suitable dog.

Provide planning, organisation and administration to support the teaching of Nordic Walking to retirement communities in Canberra. The role acts as an intermediary between retirement villages and staff at Capital Nordic Walking (CNW), who provide information sessions and lessons.
