Retirement Community Coordinator for Nordic Walking

About this opportunity

This role supports residents at Retirement Villages to have greater access to learning Nordic Walking in a safe and supported environment, including the health and social benefits of joining the larger Nordic Walking community in Canberra.

  • Respond to requests from retirement communities for presentations about Nordic Walking and/or Nordic Walking lessons.
  • Liaise with CNW to make bookings at Retirement Villages for presentations, and provide administrative support for the CNW staff at the presentation.
  • Liaise with CNW instructors to make bookings for lessons at Retirement Villages, arrange groups, keep records, manage post-lesson surveys and provide administrative support to CNW instructors.
  • Provide followup information at retirement communities, including information about other Nordic Walking groups and opportunities.
  • Plan clearly and keep complete and accurate records, in accordance with good practice and Capital Nordic Walking’s policies.
  • Assist CNW staff in managing any incidents or other issues/concerns during the presentation and lessons.

Good organisation, record keeping and planning skills.
Can communicate clearly, in writing and in conversation, including with older people
Good ability with software such as Word or Pages and communication platforms such as WhatsApp/FaceBook
Must have a mobile phone and carry it with you during walks
Note that Retirement Communities may have additional COVID requirements for entering their premises, including COVID-19 vaccination, flu vaccination and or a negative RAT result.

Time Required

Up to 15 hours over a two week period to support lessons, plus 2-3 hours for each presentation organised.
