MCCI is looking for a volunteer to assist the facilitator in the kitchen and with activities in our vibrant Italian group. The Italian group runs every fortnight on a Tuesday in Belconnen.

The role of the volunteer is to provide support and assist staff within the Canberra Community Dialysis Centre by provision of a tea round for clients having dialysis.

To provide assistance to patients during meal times, to promote appropriate and adequate nutrition and hydration at Bruce Private Hospital. To provide companionship during the meal to enhance patients wellbeing and stay in hospital.

The Program for After School Studies is targeted at young people from CALD backgrounds between the ages of 8 - 25 years old to assist with homework, reading, writing, acquiring speaking skills and study skills. Students can be tutored in a variety of subjects depending on their need. Sessions can be held face-to-face or online.

A Driver Mentors’ role is to accompany the Learner Driver during driving sessions to help them attain the number of supervised driving hours required for their logbook, providing constructive feedback and conveying the importance of road safety along the way. It is important to note the young person will have some experience on the road and your role is to consolidate the driving skills learned with a professional Driving Instructor. Our Mentor Program works with men from all sorts of backgrounds who are interviewed, screened and trained to be matched with a young man (10-18 years old). The Mentors are usually older than 24 years old and have had their own unique journey through life and want to give back. The Program requires a commitment of 2 years with an expectation of a couple of hours 1:1 contact per fortnight.
