Balwyn Evergreen is a community centre for older people that's famous for its food service. We offer a popular weekly lunch with a three-course meal of soup, main and dessert, which changes weekly depending on ingredients and the occasion. We're looking for someone with kitchen experience to volunteer each Wednesday from 11am-2pm. The role involves food preparation and plating food. You'll be working with a small team of kitchen and dining volunteers and the program coordinator.

Boroondara Cooks is a meal sharing and community-strengthening program that supports older residents (Diners) who live in their own home, however aren’t always able to cook for themselves. The program connects community members (Volunteer Cooks) who are happy to share an extra portion of their home cooked meal with an older neighbour on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. Held on a Monday between 1pm and 3.30pm, Janine's Cafe is a social occasion that our residents love. Special skills: you love chatting with older people and enjoy preparing tea/coffee and cake and you don't mind serving of the clean-up. We are looking for someone who would love to help with Janine's Cafe, once a month.
