PANDA is seeking Peer Support Volunteers to work on its National Helpline. The National Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Helpline provides support, information, counselling and referral to people experiencing perinatal anxiety and depression. Volunteers MUST be parents or grandparents who have had a lived experience of perinatal anxiety and depression (self or carer) or have faced other significant challenges in the perinatal period.

We are looking for people who can share some time to work with residents in sharing a space to explore mindfulness and reflection. This is a proven practice for people to be in the moment and reflect on their environment and their wellbeing.

We are looking for volunteers to welcome patients at our main entrance lobby and in our Level 3 lobby. A General Front of House Volunteer will be required to meet, greet and give directions or escort if required, visitors and patients to their destination in the hospital. You will at times be required to approach and assist people who may be unsure of where they are going. Other duties include assisting with transport enquiries and general tidying of reception area.

Volunteers are the backbone to our harm minimization services ( Needle & Syringe Program ) and assist in community events for Health Promotion to reduce and eliminate viral Hepatitis. Clients are from all walks of life and include PWID, those experiencing trauma, may be street present, itinerant, living with AOD or other complex issues.

Meet and Greet Volunteers provide patients with directions on how to find services within the hospital and escort the patients to the area they need to go if necessary. Volunteers must have a friendly disposition, good communication skills, desire to help others and be fit and active enough to be able to push patients in a wheelchair.
