About this opportunity

HepatitisWA seeks individuals with a passion for harm minimization and health promotion, helping our at-risk clients access clean injecting equipment, in a safe, non-judgemental and supportive environment. Clients may engage with our in house clinic, access food donations & seek referrals to other community services. Volunteers are the backbone to our services operation, based in Northbridge. We often ask volunteers to assist in community health promotion events. Primarily being the welcoming face to service our NSP, the role also includes answering telephone/reception and addressing enquiries regarding viral Hepatitis. Full training is given to successful candidates. Have a keen understanding of, or willingness to embrace the ideals of harm minimization? Have experience in working with street present, ATSI, those experiencing trauma and/or AOD issues? We'd like to hear from you.

The role is particularly suited for those studying, or have background of Health Promotion / Pharmacy / Population Health / Nursing / Medicine / Bio-med / AOD / Community Services. Having cultural awareness of Indigenous Australians is desirable.

Time Required

We hope that volunteers will commit to a minimum ONE 4-hour shift per fortnight for no less than 6 months.
