If you are an engineer, tradesman, upholsterer or expert "handyperson" this could be an ideal volunteering role for you. Note, you need to access a workshop and tools as facilities aren't provided at our central office. You are able to make or modify the equipment in your own time, there are no set days or times to volunteer. It's very flexible!

Freedom Wheels is a a program that provides customised bicycles for people with disability. Each bike is individually customised to each client. We have two main roles for this program: Clinic Volunteer- assist with setting up the bikes and equipment for each client assessment. Assist our Occupational Therapist (OT) by taking off and adding on components until the client can safely ride the bike. Assembly Volunteer- Build the client's individual bike, adding on custom components as prescribed

Someone to help with people with a disability working in a workshop environment making small woodcraft items.

The Volunteer Driver is responsible for the transportation of Beyond Blindness Members to various services offered by the organisation including social groups, bus trips and occasional medical/shopping trips and can include one-on-one social time. Volunteers are welcomed as part of the small team in the southern area. All volunteers are given training to assist blind persons. The Volunteer Driver will be required to use their own vehicle which will need to have comprehensive insurance.
