Are you a retired or current Allied Health professional – eg physio, OT or nurse, looking to volunteer for a few hours each week in your local community? The Boroondara Stroke Support Group (BSSG) is looking for more volunteers to join it's Able X team. Able X is an upper limb training tool (using hand held control devices).

As a Social Inclusion Volunteer, you will meet elderly people and people with disability to support them in various roles. Volunteering is a two way street where your volunteer journey will bring you purpose and a sense of reward as you make a difference through your volunteer tasks and responsibilities.

We are looking for Meals on Wheels Volunteer Helpers who have a desire to make a real difference in their community. You will be working together with the driver to deliver nutritious meals to people who can't cook for themselves. It is a mandatory requirement according to Public Health Orders for volunteers to provide evidence of their COVID-19 and booster registration certificate.

Using your own vehicle, assist those in the community who can't drive due to illness or circumstance get out for medical appointments, funerals, shopping, exercise, social connection. Some drives may be only 100 metres and some as far as 100 kms. Drivers are never asked to do more than they are comfortable with. Some reimbursement is available to cover petrol costs. Drivers are kept connected with a newsletter and monthly morning teas.
