Good Sammy's purpose is to create meaningful employment opportunities and pathways for people with disabilities. We employ hundreds of West Australians with disabilities and you are also supporting them by volunteering in our business services.

THE ROLE

We are looking for kitchen assistants to help with food preparation in Good Sammy's canteen department. No experience necessary, if you have an interest in food preparation or perhaps you are someone wanting to gain experience or get your 'foot in the door' as a cook, then this can be for you.

Some tasks may include:

  • Assist the chef in cooking meals and preparing ingredients

  • Dishwashing duties and general tidy up

  • Work on the cash register to process transactions

  • Customer service to serve Good Sammy staff and employees

  • Ensure correct handling of chemicals and equipment. Safe hygiene practices.

  • Be innovative! Share your ideas and come up with new dishes and recommend ways to improve current offerings.

This is based in our Head Office in Canning Vale with an opportunity for you to share your skills or learn within Good Sammy.

WHAT WILL BE PROVIDED TO YOU

  • Obtain the NDIS Worker Screening Check and complete the NDIS Worker Orientation Module training- which can be paid for by us!

  • Be part of an organisation wide group induction and get a tour of our warehouse!

  • A Centrelink approved organisation, Centrelink volunteers are encouraged to apply.

  • Students looking for work experience are also encouraged to apply.

Please note that other screening requirements include a COVID-19 Vaccination status and a National Police Clearance.
