Seeking volunteers to support Dementia Australia staff and clients in our various social support programs, which are held on weekday mornings. Our social support programs are held every day Monday to Friday and include various opportunities to join groups such as our coffee and chat, gallery/museum groups, craft, woodworking, men’s shed and walking groups around the ACT. Our Canberra team of Client Service Providers are seeking the support of a Retail Sales Wizz, someone who is friendly comfortable using the phone and chatting with our Blind and Low Vision clients. Retail experience would be ideal especially within the not for profit or disability sector.

In this role, you will co-chair a support group dedicated to the carers, family and friends of people who live with pain. You will work with you co-chair to create a safe, private and inclusive environment that helps carers prioritise their needs. The group meets monthly online.

The Open Support Community Companion Program offers one to one phone calls to people experiencing social isolation and/or loneliness. This volunteer role offers companionship and social support based on the Open Support values of Compassion, Dignity, Excellence, Justice and Unity.
