We are looking for Meals on Wheels Volunteer Helpers who have a desire to make a real difference in their community. You will be working together with the driver to deliver nutritious meals to people who can't cook for themselves. It is a mandatory requirement according to Public Health Orders for volunteers to provide evidence of their COVID-19 and booster registration certificate.
Meals on Wheels deliver meals to older people and people with disabilities living in the Parramatta LGA on week day mornings. Drivers are responsible for driving to our Hunter Street office then to customers homes with a helper. Volunteers will need to have a full licence and own comprehensively insured car. It is a mandatory requirement, according to Public Health Orders, for volunteers to provide evidence of their COVID-19 vaccines and booster vaccine registration certificate.

for Peninsula Transport Assist Incorporated - Community Services
Using your own vehicle, assist those in the community who can't drive due to illness or circumstance get out for medical appointments, funerals, shopping, exercise, social connection. Some drives may be only 100 metres and some as far as 100 kms. Drivers are never asked to do more than they are comfortable with. Some reimbursement is available to cover petrol costs. Drivers are kept connected with a newsletter and monthly morning teas.
We need volunteer drivers who can transport vulnerable people in our community so they can access essential services like medical appointments, shopping, exercise programs. Drivers who use their own cars are reimbursed per kilometre they drive, if they choose to take payment. Driving is a very rewarding role and we provide training and ongoing mentoring. Come and join an organisation where you are valued and provide an extremely necessary service to our most needy residents.
