You will be matched with families and tasks based on your experience, skills and interests and the family’s needs. We would like you to commit for 12 months and to be flexible when volunteering. The support you are expected to give will vary from family to family and may change during your time with us. We will provide you with adequate training and supervision.

We have local families in the City of Monash who need a volunteer to come to their home once a week for company and some practical support. You could be assisting with feeding and settling babies, playing with toddlers and being a support through listening and companionship.

The Family & Child Hub is suite of child and family health and wellbeing services, all located under one roof. The services are both internal and external to SCHS and together have a ‘no wrong door’ approach to navigating the individual health and wellbeing pathways of families and children. The Boroondara Family Network supports families living in the City of Boroondara with children under the age of six. The volunteer visits the parents home to provide parenting support for the families. The volunteer provides practical help (holding/playing with the baby), friendly support and encouragement in a non judgemental manner. The volunteers are available to engage in adult conversation and be a listening ear. They may assist families to access other community services where appropriate

You will be helping people to connect through regular conversations. We provide connection with other services like Centrelink, food services, housing, healthcare and counselling.

You will be helping people to connect through regular conversations, digital skills, setting up emails, MyGov accounts, help them with online shopping, possibly setting up their resumes, looking for work etc. You will also connect people with other services like Centrelink, food services, housing, healthcare and counselling.

Way Finding Volunteers help families navigate their way around the Queensland Children’s Hospital (QCH).Everyday QCH sees more than 1000 families come through the doors and the Way Finders are often the first point of contact for worried and often hurried parents, offering a welcoming smile and a gentle guiding hand.

As an Operating Theatre Recovery volunteer, you will work closely with staff to support the post-anaesthetic care of patients by providing comfort, as well as reconnecting and regulating caregiver visits. Volunteers also support the Queensland Children’s Hospital Recovery staff by answering the phones and maintaining comfort supplies.
