We are seeking volunteers to assist with handling donated goods in preparation for sales of low cost items to the general community. This involves sorting, pricing and customer service with general cleaning.

The South Australian State Emergency Service (SASES) is a volunteer-based organisation that responds to a wide range of emergencies and rescues across the state. Primarily responsible for responding to extreme weather and flooding events, the SASES also responds to road crash, marine, swiftwater, vertical and confined space rescues. We are currently looking for volunteers in both Operational and Non Operational roles.

Volunteer shift involves driving to pick up leftover/excess food from retailers (e.g. supermarket/bakery) and delivering it to a local charity, saving valuable food from ending up in landfill and providing immediate relief for those experiencing food insecurity. Want hands-on work that actually helps the environment? We grow local native (indigenous) plants from seed or cuttings for revegetation projects or local gardens. Our retail area is open to the public for plant sales. More indigenous plants in gardens and larger revegetation projects provide habitat for native animals, birds and insects, and reduce species loss. We rely on volunteers but lockdowns hit us hard. Please help us get back to the thriving nursery from before the pandemic!
