Geraldton Historical Society is looking for Museum Assistant Volunteers for the Lighthouse Keepers Cottage Museum! The museum houses an extensive collection of historical photos, research & reference material, as well as displays of Heritage lifestyle objects regarding the history of the region. A Museum Asst. would Meet and Greet visitors, guide them through the society's rooms, be able to maintain the library & the museum and open the cottage timely. On the job training will be provided.

Spencer Park Primary school run a volunteer/mentor program where students are matched up to an adult mentor to develop a relationship and then undertake various activities and projects. For one hour a week during school terms. Activities are based on your own personal strengths. Some mentors sing and play games, complete woodworking projects, support reading programs. Or share a personal interest, such as sewing, craft or cooking.

It is a varied position where no two days will be the same, providing a rewarding and welcoming learning experience to the Museum through guided visits to the public. This role requires a well presented individual, with good communication and interpersonal skills. Full training and an introduction will be provided to the Museum exhibits. The Museum is open Monday to Saturday, with two guides or hosts working together. Volunteers must be vaccinated.
